A Southwest Airways flight arriving from Phoenix was taken to a distant space of Baltimore/Washington Worldwide Thurgood Marshall Airport on Monday after the crew found a “suspicious message,” authorities said. Airport spokesman Jonathan King mentioned Southwest Flight 2104 arrived round 5:15 p.m. earlier than it was taken to the distant location.
In response to the assertion from Southwest, the 95 passengers and 6 crewmembers on board the Boeing 737-800 had been taken to the terminal by bus. The plane has a capability of 175.
CBS affiliate WUSA-TV reports a heavy police presence with flashing lights surrounded the airplane after it landed at BWI.
The airport assertion did not say what the notice contained or the place on the airplane the notice was discovered. A spokeswoman for Southwest mentioned authorities cleared the plane and the passengers had been allowed to assert their baggage.
Passengers on different flights told CBS Baltimore the information was unsettling.
“I do not know what individuals are pondering to do one thing like that… I am simply glad nothing extra severe occurred,” mentioned traveler Bob Hicks, who was flying into BWI from Denver.
“(It is) positively very scary, surprising, stunning,” one other traveler, Kieran Yeatman, mentioned.
