The society has readied their own social media team to launch the ‘Responsible Traveller’ campaign on the social media channels from this month. The campaign is intended to educate domestic travellers about the value of travel and the need to be a responsible citizen during the travel and while at the destinations.
As part of the campaign, RTSOI will be releasing a series of short videos of eminent people from different walks of life endorsing the campaign and value of Responsible Travel to the society at large and the domestic travellers in particular. “These will be 30 to 40 second videos. We will be releasing one or two videos in a week,” said Mandip Singh Soin, Founding President of RTSOI.
While launching the campaign on its own, the RTSOI is hopeful that the Ministry will join hands at some stage to make it reach a wider audience in many vernacular languages.
RTSOI will also be coming out with some key recommendations and guidelines for ‘harmonising tourism in wildlife parks’ soon. Soin said that the society has been deliberating and working closely with many Park directors, wildlife experts, and other industry members to finalise the recommendations for better management of tourism in wildlife parks in the country. “Wildlife parks will be a big draw with domestic travellers in coming months. Therefore, it is important to get rid of some of the pain points that exist in the ecosystem,” Soin said.
