Premier League side Crystal Palace is staring at a crisis as only one of the eleven out of contract players reported to training this week.
A total of 11 of Palace’s players from last season are now officially out of contract after their deals expired at the end of June with the cub reluctant to offer them a new deal until a new manager is appointed.
The Evening Standard reports that the players have been told to wait for a new manager who will gauge on who to retain and who to offload with the club still on the lookout for Roy Hodgson’s replacement who left them last summer.
Palace players were back at the club’s Beckenham training base on Friday to report for pre-season testing, though just one of the 11 players who are now in limbo was expected to attend despite the offer to take part is open to many of those unsure of their futures.
Some players have the feeling that they have no future at the club following the way they have been treated by the club officials with some of them already looking for deals elsewhere.
Vieira has been contacted after deal collapsed with Lucien Favre. No work permit issue – Palace already started the process.
